Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Searches. When you use AI Search, we store the text you typed, how we understood it and how many results it found, so we can improve the search. These logs are not linked to your name, account or IP address.
• Reviews you write. If you post a review, we store the name you enter, your rating and your text, and show them on the hotel page. Please don't include personal details you don't want shown publicly.
• A session cookie. We set one cookie, hd_session, containing a random ID (not your name or any personal detail). It lasts 30 days and is used only to manage how often guest reviews from our review partner are loaded for you.
• Your approximate country. We look up the country of your IP address with an offline database, to show hotels from your country first. We use it for that page only and do not store your IP address.
• Booking clicks. When you press Book now, we count the click with the hotel and the part of the site it came from, so we know which pages help people book. The count contains no personal details.
• Visit statistics. We count page views per day, and we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures visits without cookies and without tracking you across sites.

We do not ask for your name, email, phone number or payment details to use the site, and we do not take payments.

2. Bookings happen on our partner's site

When you click Book now or search for a stay, you go to our booking partner's website to see prices and book. Anything you enter there, including your name, contact and payment details, is collected by that partner under its own privacy policy, not by HotelDekha. We may earn a commission on bookings made through our links. Our partner may tell us that a booking came from our site, but not who you are.

Prices shown on HotelDekha are fetched by our servers from the partner; this does not share any information about you.

3. Content from other services

• YouTube videos load only when you press play. YouTube (Google) may then set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy.
• Guest reviews and ratings from review partners are shown with credit to their source.
• Maps and place data come from OpenStreetMap, Wikidata and Wikipedia; country lookup uses DB-IP. These are data sets we use on our servers, not trackers in your browser.

4. Our YouTube channel tools

HotelDekha uses Google's YouTube API only to upload and manage videos on our own YouTube channel. It does not ask for, access or store any visitor's Google or YouTube data. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

5. How we use and protect information

We use the information above to run the site, show relevant hotels, improve search and keep the service reliable and secure. It is stored on our hosting provider's servers with access limited to people who run HotelDekha. We keep search logs and statistics only as long as they are useful for improving the site, and reviews until you ask us to remove them or we remove them under our review rules.

6. Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws, you can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you (for example a review you wrote), or raise a grievance. Write to support@hoteldekha.com and we will reply within 30 days. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them.

7. Children

HotelDekha is meant for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

8. Changes

If we add features such as member accounts or rewards, we will update this page before they launch and change the date at the top. The latest version is always at https://hoteldekha.com/privacy.
